Every day, you face challenges in your business to be more global, efficient and
competitive with your resources – offset by pressure to reduce your business’ impact
on the environment. We understand this challenge, and can help you create a simple
approach to sustainable and environmentally-sound energy practices.
Take a look and compare.
Renewable Energy Certificates
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are one of the easiest ways for your organization
to support green sources of power. When you buy RECs, you are investing in the development
of renewable energy sources, and making a commitment to support greener sources
With Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from Hess Energy Marketing, you can:
- Improve your energy diversity, independence and sustainability
- Enhance your organization’s reputation as an environmentally responsible corporate
- Support the conservation of non-renewable fossil fuels - oil, coal and natural gas
- Offset carbon dioxide and other emissions from conventional power plants, which
means cleaner air for everyone
The purchase of RECs is completely voluntary and does not affect your electricity
service in any way. When you purchase RECs, you are increasing the amount of renewable
energy supplied to the power grid.
See how the process works in the chart below:
The RECs provided by Hess Energy have been certified by Green-e Energy.
Their seal assures that your renewable energy purchase is reducing the environmental
impact of your electricity use.
Green-e Energy is the nation’s leading independent certification and verification
program for renewable energy. It is a voluntary consumer-protection program that
certifies superior renewable energy options offered by utilities and marketers in
the voluntary renewable energy market. It is administered by Center for Resource
Solutions, a nonprofit based in San Francisco, CA.

Carbon Offsetting, or C-Neutral, is a way to compensate for greenhouse gas emissions
by purchasing carbon offset credits. The proceeds from the sale of C-Neutral are
then invested in sustainability projects across the country and around the world.
These projects can range from the development of renewable energy sources and energy
efficiency technologies to agricultural and reforestation initiatives.
Hess C-Neutral's progressive approach bundles C-Neutral with natural gas, electricity
and/or fuel oil making your total energy purchase up to 100% carbon neutral. As
a result, your organization can:
- Meet and exceed consumer demand for sustainable solutions
- Position itself as a leader in environmental stewardship and consumer advocacy
- Achieve a competitive advantage by effectively tackling "green" operational and
supply chain mandates
- Generate goodwill and heighten brand awareness
Because Hess Energy's carbon credits support only high quality initiatives endorsed by Green-e
Climate, you can be sure your investment has a positive impact.
Green-e Climate is the nation's first certification program for carbon offsets sold
to consumers on the retail market. It is a voluntary certification program that
sets consumer protection and environmental integrity standards for greenhouse gas
(GHG) emission reductions sold in the voluntary market. It is administered by Center
for Resource Solutions, a nonprofit based in San Francisco, CA.
